WINE TASTING
ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WINE TASTING!! — THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED MAKE IT POSSIBLE!!
The St. Stephen’s 12th Annual “Toasting & Tasting” was held on Saturday, November 3, 2012. Once again members and guests enjoyed an evening of delicious hors d’oeuvres, wine sampling from a large number of Spokane area vintners, and a fabulous array of auction items presented in both a Silent and a Live Auction format. Proceeds help support outreach efforts such as the Holy Trinity Dinner Table Ministry and St. Stephen’s Basketball Summer Camp, as well as programs within the church.
Tickets were only $35 each— one of the best prices for a wine tasting in all of Spokane. No wonder it’s often a sell out! Just look at some of the photos from this and last year’s events, and you will want to join us! Invite your friends, co-workers, neighbors and family — and consider bidding on dinners and vacations singly or as a group. Information is available during office hours at the church office at (509) 448-2255.
If you are a wine connoisseur or just enjoy a little wine “now & then”, you will not only be tasting great wines, but you will be able to buy wine at discounts during the event. The vintners will be available to answer your questions and give you insights as to their wine.
If you are looking for some outstanding values on entertainment and recreational events, as well as gift certificates and baskets for gifts or for yourself (think Christmas), this is the place to find it. Check back at this site for examples of some of the items which will be available, and plan on joining the fun!
All you have to do is look at the photos and you can just feel the fun that was had by all — many of the vintners saying this is their favorite event. We had a good turnout, close to capacity, and all the auction categories $ amounts were up from last year. The baskets and gifts were quite unique and special. (Those who attend lots of auctions always say ours is one of the best!) For the Live Auction, this year we had a new innovation: a Power Point presentation of each Live Auction item.
There was quite a bit of excitement during the Bead Raffle—this year’s winner Bob Shaw! Now we all want to get close to him, hoping the luck will rub off!
During one of the work parties prior to the event, we overheard someone saying that even the WORK is fun, and we hope you feel the same way! How can we even begin to thank the many wonderful people who did their part for a successful wine tasting & auction? We can’t list names separately, but we’re all aware of those who worked so long and so hard. We thank you!
Thank you for buying or selling tickets, for attending, and for bringing your family and friends. Without YOU, it wouldn’t be the success it was!
