WOMEN IN MINISTRY (WIM) ECW
We call it Women in Ministry (WIM) but nationally it is called the Episcopal Church Women, with informal gatherings in each parish and links among the women in each parish and diocese.
ECW/WIM Mission, Vision and Goals
The National Board of the Episcopal Church Women exists to support all women in their mission and ministry in the world. The vision for all women of the Episcopal Church is that we become a vibrant blend of all ages, coming together as a peacemaking, healing part of the Church. We aspire to be a God spark* – shining and sharing the love of Christ.
The goals of the national ECW
· To strengthen lines of communication through the Communiqué, website and diocesan and provincial visitations.
· To establish Women of Vision and Call to Action programs in every diocese.
· To encourage familiarity with and participation in programs offered by Women In Ministry.
*God spark (from the Enneagram) — the core self, the part of us made in God’s image, the spirit, soul.
WIM/ ECW is an active group at St. Stephen’s that is in transition. Previously ECW, it is becoming known as Women In Ministry (WIM) and will include ministries formerly the province of ECW but with an expanded emphasis on the ministry of all women in the parish.
