BLESSINGS CHILD

A Thanksgiving for the Birth or Adoption of a Child

Following the birth or adoption of a child, we encourage our families to contact one of the clergy to schedule a “Thanksgiving” (found in the Book of Common Prayer on p. 439).

This is a short prayer and blessing ceremony that occurs during a regular Sunday morning service, and allows the congregation to welcome that child into its midst, and to honor the changes taking place in the family with the arrival of the new member.
