MORE LEARNING

St. Stephen’s is a “teaching parish.” We are pleased to offer stimulating and challenging educational events for the parish and the community.

In Lent, we offer a Wednesday evening soup supper followed by a presentation by a community leader on a topic that stretches our faith and expands our spirituality. At other times, we have offered a lecture series by prominent theologians such as Marcus Borg, Walter Breuggeman, and Margaret Guenther. We also host webcast educational presentations by Trinity Church, New York, with speakers such as the renowned Christian educator and writer Thomas Groome.

Occasionally we offer special forums on critical issues, in order to offer a Christian perspective on controversial contemporary events.
