INSPIRATIONAL

INSPIRATIONAL

Life is short and we do not have much time to
gladden the hearts of those who journey the way with us.
So be quick to love and make haste to be kind.

Memorable Quote:
Jesus promises you two things: Your life has meaning, and you’re going to live forever. If you get a better offer, take it.” Gene Walsh

An Irish Blessing:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palmof His hand.

(Traditional Irish Blessing; origin unknown,
although some attribute it to St. Patrick.)

A prayer by St. Elizabeth of the Trinity (1880-1906):
Heaven in the Soul
O Lord, I want to disappear in you
like a drop of water in an immense sea;
deign to destroy in me what is not divine,
so that my soul, being free, rushes into your Being.

I have to enter that immense space,
that fathomless abyss and that profound mystery
so as to love you, Jesus, as you are loved in heaven,
without any external thing able to distract me.

I want to live in your “foyer of love”,
in the ray of lights shining forth from your Face;
and live for you alone as in the divine dwelling place,
in that sweet peace that is beyond compare.

There, this transformation will take place,
there I will become like another you;
but I will only attain that state
by losing everything here below for you, Supreme Beauty.

When we truly love we no longer live in ourselves,
for we feel the need to forget ourselves constantly;
the heart only finds rest and refreshment
when it has found the object of its love.

That is why, Jesus, in my love for you,
I desire naught but your holy presence;
at every moment of the day, I want to forget myself
and, in your sight alone, offer myself up in silence.

In the profound peace of your eternal Being,
deign to hide me away in you so that, while still in this life,
l can live as if I were in heaven,
in your love and infinite peace.

I do not have to look for you outside
to become one with you;
I have only to hide myself within my heart
to lose myself forever in your divine Essence.
