CLICK Here for the RECTOR SEARCH Page – August 22, 2010
The committee has finally finished creating the Parish Profile and it has been accepted for publication.
We are happy to report that the paper work required for the final Position Profile portion of the application has also been completed. Now, Bishop Waggoner and The Rev.Canon Kristi Philip will send out this information and will report back to us when they have the names of candidates they believe we should consider.
If you want to read the profile, CLICK HERE, or I will have several printed copies in the Narthex early next week. Thank you all for your patience and continued prayers and encouragement. It has been a long process, but we are pleased with the results. We hope you all are too.
Cathy Henneberry, Chair for Search Process
Interim Rector Selected – October 23, 2009
The Vestry is delighted to announce that Rev. Kristi Philip will serve as our interim rector in the coming months as we discern our needs and conduct a search for a permanent rector. Kristi will divide her time equally between her responsibilities at the Diocesan level and at St. Stephen’s, commencing formally on November 1. Kristi has extensive training and experience with congregational transition and the search process. In addition, the Vestry was drawn to her pastoral skills, her communication background, and her though-provoking sermons. Please welcome her as part of the St. Stephen’s family.
Forward Day by Day Devotionals
The November/ December/ January “Day by Day” devotionals have arrived and are on the media table outside the church office. Please place your donations to help cover the cost of these booklets in the provided envelopes, which may be left in the church office or the mail box by the office door.
Fall 2008 – Every Member Canvas
It’s autumn, which means the St. Stephen’s Every Member Canvas is in full swing. The pledges will be used to determine the budget for 2009. 200 letters went out to members on October 1, and the October 25-26 services will include an opportunity for our members to bring their pledge cards to the altar as a dedication to God and St. Stephen’s.
After the Sunday 10:15 service, we will have a Harvest Celebration in the parish hall. The main dish, ham, will be supplied by the church and members are asked to bring potluck items. Further information is available in the service bulletin or by calling 448-2255.
