CLASS SCHEDULE

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION SCHEDULE

Sundays

The Sunday program of Christian education at St. Stephen’s follows this schedule:

9:00am

Adult education in the Parish Hall, until 10:00am

9:00am

Children’s Sunday School classes begin, downstairs in the classrooms for older kids (approximately 3rd to 6th graders) and ends at 9:45AM.  We have singing, guitar music, and fellowship time from 9:45AM to 10:00AM.

10:00am

Kindergartners to 2nd grade come in for class at 10:00AM and they finish at 10:45AM.

Children’s worship time begins in the Children’s Chapel, with music, drama, puppetry, dance and holy movement – the children’s Liturgy of the Word.  During Sunday school, we read and listen to God’s word (usually the Gospel reading) and follow the liturgy schedule of the church.  What the children learn at Sunday school is the same lesson the adults learn in the sanctuary.  After the reading and some discussion, the kids participate in a craft activity or game that helps illustrate the Gospel reading even more.  The kids also get a healthy snack during Sunday school.

10:45am

Children join their families at the exchange of the Peace, for the Holy Eucharist

Wednesdays in Lent

6:00pm

The Lenten Evening Program begins with a potluck supper at 6:00pm followed by a presentation by a community speaker on the Lenten theme. The evening ends at 8:00pm.
