Who do I call?
For pastoral care questions, questions relating to worship, and information about participating more fully in the life of this parish: Contact one of the clergy (the Rector or the Deacons) by phone or e-mail. Call the church office and ask for one of the clergy, or e-mail them as follows:

OUR DEACONS – CHARLIE & ELAINE
Our Deacons (who are not compensated) assist in our Worship services and serve in so many ways, including calling on the sick. They are instrumental in helping us in our Mission to gather, grow and serve. We’re fortunate to have two of them!

Charlie Jett has been our Deacon for many years. Although he is now retired and lives most of the year in South Carolina, he and his wife, Jane, return “home” every summer to rejoin their friends here and serve as Deacon in the Summer month

At the closing worship service of the 48th Annual of Convention of the Diocese of  Spokane at St. John’s Cathedral on October 21, 2012, Elaine Pitzer of St. Stephen’s parish was ordained to the Order of Deacons by Bishop Waggoner, along with Robert Runkle from Coeur d’ Alene and Dianne Lowe from Pullman.

Elaine has worshiped at St. Stephen’s for over 20 years where she actively serves as a Eucharistic Visitor, in pastoral care, and coordinating St. Stephen’s volunteers at Holy Trinity Dinner Table. She enjoys the practice of contemplative prayer with the daily office.  Elaine is keenly interested in becoming more involved in outreach relating to refugees and immigrants, and religious tolerance. As a Deacon she hopes to draw people into an awareness of God’s Trinitarian living presence and action in their lives, whether it is through her service in outreach, education, or leading people to prayer.
